WORKSHOP CHOICES

1] Christian 'Mindfulness': Psalm 131 for stressed-out souls
Many of us feel overrun with anxiety and stress at some point in our lives. Where can we find help? In this seminar we'll look at the very popular practice of Mindfulness, how it meets the Biblical worldview - and its limitations. We'll also spend time in Psalm 131 (a wonderful medicine for stressed souls!) and include lots of time for quiet reflection on God's word and prayer.

2] Glorifying God through Creativity
Do you consider yourself 'creatively gifted', an 'artist' even? Or maybe you don't think you have a 'creative' bone in your body! Come and discover what the Bible teaches us about creativity, and what place it has in the Christian life. How can we use our creative imagination to glorify our Creator God?

3] Church: A Glorious Family?
How can families partner with the church in growing disciples, and how can the whole church family support parents? An opportunity to consider and apply the Bible’s teaching about church family and families. Whether as parents, youth leaders, widowed or single, we will explore our roles in supporting each other in the glorious family of Christ.

4] Pointing others to Glorious Jesus
The word 'evangelism' can often provoke feelings of fear or guilt. Together we will look at what it means to be 'in Christ', and how this can be the key to personal evangelism. Using The Word 1-2-1 resources, stories, and personal testimony, participants will leave this session with a ‘takeaway tool kit’ to equip us in overcoming fears, grabbing opportunities, and making evangelism an everyday joy.

"For many years now, women from our churches have streamed up to London to enjoy the London Women's Convention, a day filled with superb teaching, awesome worship and rich fellowship. Since that finished, the planning team of the Kent Gospel Partnership decided to try and replicate that on a more local level."

Richard Hagan,

Kent Gospel Partnership

The planning team for the 2021 Kent Women's Convention is:

Corinne Hagan - Emmanuel Church, Canterbury

Katie Linforth - Emmanuel Church, Canterbury

Emma Sutton - Redeemer Church, Folkstone

Celia Hyland - Rochester Baptist Church

"Through the existing network of Kent Gospel Partnership, and with a small planning team, we are excited to have set up a local and affordable day-conference for women to gather around God's word, with the aims of offering:

  • low ticket prices

  • excellent Bible teaching aptly applied for women

  • time for God's word to dwell in us richly in praise and response, discussion and prayer.

  • partnership opportunities between churches in Kent

For our second event, St Nicks Sevenoaks is a wonderful large and accessible venue. Whatever your age or background, this day is for you. Tickets are limited to 200, so please book soon to secure a place!"
