OUR MAIN SPEAKER
Rob Pickering grew up in a non-christian family and came to saving faith in Christ aged 18. He worked in investment banking followed by recruitment management before training for the ministry. He became the Pastor of Selhurst Evangelical Church in 2010, and is married to Rachel. They have 3 children. Rob chairs the Croydon Gospel Partnership, enjoys walking and sport, and tries to play golf with non-Christian guys!
Rob says: "I think the subject of Standing Firm in Christ is important because a lot of guys are battered, tired, weary, don’t find it easy to stand firm, and don’t know how - or have lost a desire - to even stand for Christ. The guys I speak to and pastor have many similar challenges, even though they have different personal circumstances. I think a biblical understanding of Standing Firm in Christ is a word in season when many are struggling in the fight."
"For many years, men and women from Kent streamed up to London to enjoy the London Christian Conventions, filled with superb teaching, awesome worship and rich fellowship. Since they finished, the planning team of the Kent Gospel Partnership decided to try and replicate that on a more local level."
