THE TEAM
"For many years now, women from our churches have streamed up to London to enjoy the London Women's Convention, a day filled with superb teaching, awesome worship and rich fellowship. Since that finished, the planning team of the Kent Gospel Partnership decided to see if we could replicate that on a more local level. We are thrilled to launch our first Kent Women's Convention - don't miss Flourish 2019!"
Richard Hagan,
Kent Gospel Partnership
"Through the existing network of Kent Gospel Partnership, and with a small planning team, we are excited to have set up a local and affordable day-conference for women to gather around God's word, with the aims of offering:
-

-

-
time for God's word to dwell in us richly in praise and response, discussion and prayer.
-
partnership opportunities between churches in Kent
Rochester Baptist Church is a large and easily accessible venue and we are pleased to offer an excellent programme of workshops, main teaching, stories of God's work in Kent, interviews, and music led by Liv Chapman from Emu Music. WORKSHOP CHOICES
1] Flourishing as I am
With reflections and songs, this workshop looks at how God's biblical wisdom and following Jesus shapes what we think of ourselves, our identity, our bodies, and our worth.
2] Uncomfortable Love
As Christians we know we are broken, messy people, who have been shown incredible love, but for many of us we can still struggle to be loved, and to love others as God intends. And yet Paul’s desire is that we would ‘grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.’ (Eph 3:18b NIV).
Loving is uncomfortable, loving those who don’t know how to love (yet), or be loved is really uncomfortable. Receiving love and learning how to love when love meant something totally different - is beyond uncomfortable …. but, it is this uncomfortable love that can bring you back from the brink – being held in relationships that can tolerate ‘uncomfortable’ can begin to heal our deep wounds.
This seminar includes personal testimony of learning how to be loved in the aftermath of adverse childhood experiences. With some practical discussion on the importance of getting up close to messy lives, if we really want to help ourselves and others become deeply rooted in the wide, high, long and deep love of Christ.
3] Rooted in God's Word
Why is reading the Bible so vital for our growth and health as Christians? With many pressures on our time and brain space, how can we stay rooted in God's word through life and not grow stale, half-hearted and superficial in our reading of the Bible?
4] Bearing fruit in sharing the gospel
Sharing the gospel is not something extra tricky to feel guilty or pressured about, but should be an ordinary part of loving God and loving our neighbour. We'll ask: Who is my neighbour? How can I be a good friend to those who don't yet know Christ? How do I make the most of opportunities?
